Trademarks in Portugal are governed by the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property (Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial - INPI), which processes applications, examines compliance, publishes for opposition, and issues registrations that provide exclusive rights within Portuguese territory. As a member of the European Union, protection is also available via the EU Trade Mark (EUTM).
