The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Bahrain has introduced a temporary relief measure, granting applicants an additional three-month window to complete formalities for industrial property applications. This applies to trademarks, patents, utility models, and industrial designs.
The extension addresses practical challenges faced by applicants in meeting notarization and legalization requirements within the prescribed timelines. Eligible applicants may request this extension without incurring additional official fees, subject to a formal application being submitted to the Ministry.
Once approved, applicants will have up to 90 days from the original deadline to complete the outstanding formalities. Applications that are not regularized within this extended period will be treated as abandoned in accordance with applicable regulations.
